Shaanxi Kaida major good news

Recently, good news came from Tarakan, Indonesia. The 192 t/d (100% basis) hydrogen peroxide plant of Singapore’s Golden Eagle Group PRI has been operating continuously and stably for more than 360 days as of March 2026, since its commissioning on December 4, 2024. The hydrogenation catalyst applied in the plant is a new-type palladium catalyst independently developed by Shaanxi Kaida Chemical Co., Ltd. Featuring advanced precious metal surface spraying technology, the catalyst has a palladium content of only 0.25 wt%, with uniformly distributed active components and strong adhesion. Its adaptability and operation efficiency are far superior to similar products in the industry. The plant initially stably achieved an output of 180 t/d (100% basis). Six months after startup, the second hydrogenation tower was connected in series, and full-load production was smoothly realized (approximately 192.5 t/d on 100% basis, with an actual output of 195 t/d). Operation data over one year of continuous stable operation shows that: • Inlet temperature of the hydrogenation tower is consistently below 46 ℃; • Hydrogen peroxide concentration is 30%–32%; • Residual hydrogen peroxide in the raffinate is less than 0.12 g/L; • Hydrogenation degree is below 36%; • Hydrogen efficiency reaches 8.1 g/L; • Tetrahydroanthraquinone concentration increased from 18 g/L to 30 g/L.  Consumption of 2-ethylanthraquinone, alumina and aromatic hydrocarbons is significantly lower than the industry average. Hydrogen consumption is as low as 683–692 Nm³ per ton of product. The system runs with no water entrainment, no venting, and stable hydrogen uptake, with overall indicators reaching the top level in the industry. Supported by the excellent performance of Kaida’s catalyst, as well as patented technologies including series-connected double towers and hydrogen-nitrogen cycle self-cleaning hydrogenation, the plant successfully solved the problem of local tower flooding and realized zero venting of hydrogenation tail gas, achieving remarkable effects in green low-carbon operation, cost reduction and efficiency improvement. The success of this benchmark project in Indonesia fully demonstrates that the new-type palladium catalyst for fixed-bed anthraquinone process hydrogen peroxide production developed by Shaanxi Kaida has reached the leading level in China, highlighting the strong technical strength of China’s domestic catalytic enterprises. In the future, Kaida Chemical will continue to innovate and contribute high-quality catalytic products to the high-quality development of the global green chemical industry.
