Molecular formula: PtCl4
Molecular weight: 336.9
Appearance: Brown red crystal
Application scope:
Used as catalyst and analytical reagent; It is also used in epitaxial and diffusion processes in semiconductor production.
Platinum tetrachloride is a kind of hygroscopic, soluble in water, acetone, ethanol and slightly soluble in ammonia. Platinum dichloride and chlorine gas can be decomposed at 370°C. Hexachloroplatinic acid can be formed by dissolving in hydrochloric acid. In volumetric analysis, potassium, ammonium, thallium, alkaloids, etc., are also used as catalysts.
